EASTER FAMILY SKATE SCHOOL - MIXED AGE LEARNING

Choose your session carefully, as there is a different focus each day.

MONDAY - LET'S GET ROLLING - LEVEL 1 skaters - no previous experience or very little experience.

TUESDAY - CONTROL THE ROLL - LEVEL 1 & 2 skaters - some previous experience. You can go forwards but we are struggling to stop!

WEDNESDAY - BACKWARDS BONANZA - LEVEL 2 & 3 skaters - some previous experience. Let's work on all things backwards.

THURSDAY - TRULY TRICKY - LEVEL 2 & 3 skaters - some previous experience. What even is a skate trick? Our team will show you their favourites and have a go learning with them.

FRIDAY - FANCY FOOTWORK - LEVEL 2 & 3 skaters - some previous experience. We will offer techniques to get your skate skills more precise, so you have your party moves!

Please note that numbers are very limited each day!

What will happen?

Doors will open 10 minutes in advance of the session start time, to allow for check in. Should you require hire equipment, you can arrange this at The Skate Sanctuary for an additional £2.

Please make sure you are on time as we may not allow entry if you are more than 10 minutes late.

Our coaches will start with a warm up, before moving on to the main session.

We understand that there will be a wide range of confidence and experience within the room - even within small groups - so we offer a daily coaching focus to build our session around.

If you have a trick or skill you really want to learn, please let our coaches know and they will do their best to fit it in for you.

We will make suggestions about improving your technique and skills through drills and effective exercises. We always offer suggestions as we understand all skaters come with different experiences and what works for one skater may not be appropriate for another. We encourage skaters to make decisions for themselves.

Please bring water. We also offer a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks. We will provide fresh fruit to enjoy.

Following a short break in the session, we have games to play and we will end each session with a mini disco.

Please be aware that there is no parking during the day at Mabgate Mills. We suggest you park on Macaulay Street, Cherry Row or at Aldi.

Class Safety:

We take safety in roller skating seriously. Your child must be on time for the class as we include a safety briefing, kit checks and warm up as an essential part of the class. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we reserve the right to not allow entry as it is disruptive and no refund will be given.

Clothes should be suitable for exercise and long hair should be tied back. Any earrings should be small studs or rings.

Accompanying adults:

Please note that due to limited space in the studio, we have room for one accompanying adult. Any babies or younger siblings are welcome, but should not distract the class. We expect accompanying adults to assist younger children with getting their kit on and helping them take it off at the end of the class. Please do not take photos or videos during the class. We will offer opportunities at the end of the session to take video if you wish.

Should your child need the toilet during class, the accompanying adult should support the child to the toilet.

If your child is at secondary school, accompanying adults do not need to remain in the room while the session is in progress, but must remain on the Mabgate Mills site. Primary aged children should not be left.

Children must be collected promptly at the end of the session. Should you be late to collect your child, we reserve the right to refuse further bookings for your child. If we are unable to contact you, we will reach out to your emergency contact. Failing this, we will contact the LADO (local authority designated officer) at Leeds City Council.

Discipline Policy

1. Verbal warning for minor safety/behaviour issues

2. Time-out from skating activity

3. Parent conference for repeated issues

4. Removal from class for poor or unsafe behaviour or repeated rule violations. No refunds will be issued for dismissal in these circumstances

Where is Mabgate Mills?

The Skate Sanctuary is located in Mabgate Mills, just outside Leeds city centre, near Aldi on Harrogate Road.

Refunds / Reschedule: We are happy to refund or reschedule any class providing 24 hours or more notice is given by email to skate@rollergirlgang.co.uk  We are not able to accept refund requests by social media DM or phone.

Should our instructors cancel your class, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer a refund or reschedule the session. We are unable to incur any cost or liability beyond the value of the ticket.
