Poi spinning is a flow art.  Spinning the poi and learning how to create patterns with them around your body is meditative - much like roller skating!  When you have some fundamental skills with poi and with roller skating, you can combine the two!  Choose from scarf poi, light up LED poi or bring your own and join us.

We will learn some fundamental techniques of poi spinning and how to create patterns to music. 

Poi is both the name of the object (a weight on the end of a flexible cord) and what you do with that object (spin it in circles around your body). It is believed that poi originally came from the Māori of New Zealand. Today, poi continues to play an important role in Māoridom and across the globe as a form of performance, play, and fitness.

How do I find the venue?

The Corn Exchange is in Leeds City Centre on Call Lane. There is no free parking available, but Crown Street Car Park, Victoria Gate Car Park and Trinity Car Park all have evening parking available for £3 after 5pm (please check before setting off)

Leeds train station is a short walk away.
