It's Party Season! Roller Skate Parties a-coming!

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

Hallowe'en Roller Disco

Saturday October 28th, 2023

Corn Exchange

It's our long awaited Hallowe'en roller disco at Leeds Corn Exchange. This adult-only roller disco is held in Leeds' iconic Corn Exchange - a fabulous listed building in the heart of the city. We use the main concourse level floor for skating - the lovely smooth wooden floor is a dream to roller skate on. The centre is busy with shoppers and traders during the day, so we ask that skaters are on their feet not wheels - that just makes this an extra special treat!

This October, we will be welcoming you through the side entrance to the lower ground floor, where you can check-in, sort your belongings and collect skate hire, before moving to the main skate floor. We will provide an area to leave your belongings / outerwear / shoes. All items are left at your own risk, so please keep your valuables on your person in a small bag. Skates cannot be worn on the stairs.

We welcome all skill levels - from your first to 1001 time on skates - we expect more experienced skaters to be mindful of less experienced skaters and give them more room (cutting folks up is not okay!). After all, we were all beginners once! Due to some fixtures and fittings within the building that cannot be moved, we ask all skaters to be mindful of their speed. Our skate marshalls will ask you to slow down if we feel you may be skating in a way that is risky to others or the building. If you are not willing to change how you skate, we reserve the right to ask you to leave and no refund will be given.

Fancy dress or dress fancy? For those wanting to dress up in Hallowe'en attire, we will be holding a fancy dress skate parade during the evening and look forward to seeing your costumes.

For refreshments during the evening, Bruschetta cafe will be open serving a selection of snacks, hot and cold soft drinks to suit all dietary requirements, including dairy free options. Alcohol will not be served during this event. You are welcome to bring your own water bottle

If you haven't yet purchased a ticket, do it soon! There will only be a few tickets available on the door, and these will be more expensive.

Roller Dance Class 7-8pm

If you would like to learn some new moves, join head coach Mel to learn some brand new choreography suitable for most skill levels, with suggested progressions and regressions you can try out. We will make sure that our house DJ - DJ Chambiere - plays the tune during the evening for us to perform! Doors for dance class will open at 6.45pm to allow folks to check in and be ready for 7pm start.

Christmas Party Roller Disco

Thursday 7th December

Project House, Armley

Early Christmas party! Get your festive jumper on and let's go roller skating!

Remember that time our pals at Superfriendz invited us to have a roller disco at their venue? Well they've invited us back. We have made a few improvements to the last session, including creating more space on the floor for roller skating, by changing the layout of the room. Please note that this is a concrete warehouse floor, with some cracks, so softer wheels may be more comfortable. There are also some very smooth parts of the floor that will be great with harder wheels.

Project House is a fully licensed venue, so ID will be checked if you are lucky enough to look under 25. Please do not bring your own bottles into the venue - only empty water bottles will be permitted - simply ask the bar staff for a refill.

There is just one 4 hour mega-session this time, with optional games included!

As always, we welcome all levels of experience and gender identities. If you have less experience and want a quieter space, we recommend you get there early, as the space will fill up later.

There is plenty of on-street parking at Project House, and a cloakroom on the way in. Please make sure you book the skate hire size you require, so we are able to take what you need.

Skate Pass holders will automatically receive 20% off their ticket price.

Valentine's Ball Roller Disco

Saturday 17th February, 2024

Corn Exchange

We are delighted to release the tickets for the upcoming Valentine's ball - this will be our 5th Valentine's Ball at Leeds Corn Exchange, and it promises to be a spectacular event.

Even better, we get to celebrate this with our friends from Es Quint Foundation in The Netherlands, who are in Leeds that weekend to deliver their Riffs and Routines Seminar . If you are attending the seminar, you will get a private hour at the Corn Exchange with only other seminar attendees and trainers, Brian and Mariska. You do not need to purchase an additional ticket for the Valentine's Ball if you choose a weekend seminar ticket, as your entry will be included. Please follow the link above to reserve your place on the Riffs and Routines Seminar, as places are very limited!

Skate Pass holders will automatically receive 20% off their ticket.
