Roller Girl Gang's vision is to empower people to roller skate into their most joyful life.
Stories are powerful and even more so when they are told by individuals. This project has been very humbling. The very personal things that folks have chosen to share are gifts. You'll see!
Episode 6: Ree
Everyone has a story to tell. We want to learn more about why roller skates are so special to so many people – no matter your age, gender, race, culture or ability. We hope this series inspires you to try roller skating, because roller skating brings us so much joy!
Ree (they/them) and Mel had a fabulous and fun conversation. Ree shares many tips for overcoming the ‘fear’ particularly when learning in skate parks and normalising the challenge of roller skating. Our favourite is “Do what I say and not what I do!” Thank you Ree!

I've known Ree since almost the start of their roller skate journey, as they joined our subscription box - My Roller Skate Journey - which ran for one year during 2021. Each month, subscribers received a box through the post with little skate treats including a merit patch, pages to record their roller skate journey and a little something extra! We also held monthly chats online and the group supported each other in ways that were totally amazing. The space created and upheld by members of the group became very precious. We still have the FaceBook group, although it has been renamed to 'Roll with the Gang'. You can join here.
