Spring Skating! March & April 2025

Writer: Mel BlackwoodMel Blackwood

We felt it for a few days, the sun finally had some heat and we managed to peel off a layer or two (but not pack away the winter woollies just yet!) that means it's almost time to SKATE OUTSIDE!

If you have ever skated outside, you'll know this is a space for the brave - nowhere is quite flat, because if it is GUARANTEED it's a court for a different sport and those users will be there wanting to play!

Nowhere is particularly smooth - so many stumbles and falls later - you conclude that "roller skating isn't for me." Actually, if you want to skate, we've made it our mission to support you to learn. We ABSOLUTELY want people to be able to find the confidence to skate outdoors - only by being visible will you inspire more people to roller skate.

That means you need to get your skates strapped on soon.

Luckily, it's only March, and we have plenty of options for you to get rolling.

Who can attend skate sessions?

Apart from an age restriction on most of our events, we welcome skaters from all genders. We simply ask that all skaters exercise due care and consideration for others. Weaving between skaters in a way that causes them to fall is unacceptable. We are particularly keen to hold space for less confident skaters and expect all skaters to respect this.

You are welcome to wear quads or inlines.

This Easter Holiday, we are holding our first ever Easter Skate Academy and we are very excited!

This will be mixed age learning, yes skaters from 7 - 70 are welcome, with 90 minute daily sessions. Each day will focus on a slightly different skill, so be sure to choose the day that suits you.

MONDAY - Let's Get Rolling - Level 1

TUESDAY - Control Your Roll - Level 1&2

WEDNESDAY - Backwards Bonanza - Level 2&3

THURSDAY - Truly Tricky - Level 2&3

FRIDAY - Fancy Footwork - Level 2&3

All sessions include small group coaching, fruit break and a mini disco.

Secure your space by booking below.

Adults will also find our popular Outdoor Confidence Workshop series, are back!

You will need all your own equipment for outdoor skating - hire equipment is not available for these sessions. Quads or Inline skaters are welcome.

CLASS PRICES

Please also note that due to inflation, our coached class prices are going up on 1st April 2025 by £1 per ticket. We are leaving our social and drop-in skate prices alone.

Any new memberships will also be going up in price to £50. Existing members will retain their current price of £45 per month. Should this be cancelled, you will then sign up at the new price.
