Weekly round up with Roller Girl Gang... (from 2nd September 2024)

With a shiny new booking system and calendar in place, let's take a peek at what exciting classes we have in store for you this week... Make the most of your summer by taking part in our range of summer skate activities that will provide you with the motivation you need to get started:

Let's kick off this week with our returning Beginner Roller Skate class on MONDAY. From 6.00 - 7.30 pm, we invite all new or returning skaters to come and experience the joy of skating first-hand. We understand that them first few steps into skating can be challenging and a little off-putting at the start of your roller skating Journey... That's why here at Roller Girl Gang, we offer a pressure free environment in a safe space so that we can offer you some words of encouragement and support.

Now you may be wondering, what will I be learning? For our newest skaters with absolutely no prior experience, we have a separate group and instructor who will be looking after you. Otherwise, our team will assess your current skate level and support you with developing a range of skills. To name a few; stopping, skating backwards, falling safely and much, much more! One of the most rewarding things to come out of these sessions is growth in confidence and we absolutely love to see the transformations. Thinking of giving skating a go? This is your sign!

On MONDAY also, we have an Evening Practice class from 7.30 - 9.00 pm... Light up your evening with a chill space to wind down and do what you best see fit on skates. Expect disco lights, music and the opportunity to connect with like - minded others by moving in a way that feels good for you! All we ask is that you respect others around you by keeping to a reasonable speed.

What are you waiting for? Pop on down to The Skate Sanctuary to have a good time on or off skates and work on those groovy moves!

It's TUESDAY and at Roller girl Gang, we are big advocates for moving your whole body when skating! Sure, a lot of roller dance comes down to the legs... But with assistance from your upper body, it's as though a new breath of life is given to the movements helping improve balance and energy.

Ourselves and many skaters alike love using roller dance as a way to not only have a good time but also express ourselves. We want everyone to be given the chance to experience this thrilling way of moving. So if this sounds like something you'd enjoy, get your grooves ready for our Discover Roller Dance class from 6.30 - 8.00 pm!

Thanks to our incredible coaches who built up a bank of knowledge over the years, allow us to introduce you to the inspiring world of roller dance with no previous experience needed. We of course gladly welcome returning visitors with open arms also, pop on in and say hello.

Rolling into WEDNESDAY, we have our Roller Dance Skills Focus & Flow class. A new month means a new monthly focus, drum roll please... For September we'll be looking at the cross step! As one of the building blocks of roller dance, expand and improve your skate skills and experiment with various levels of challenge so you can continue to progress as quickly or slowly as you like.

If you haven't already joined us for a session, what are you waiting for? Come on down to The Skate Sanctuary from 6.30 - 8.30 pm and master your flow.

As we glide into THURSDAY, we're once again met with two different open level practices... Roller girl gang invites you to a safe space for all, a space which only has room for spreading the love. Thursday open level practice (all ages) is a chance for all ages to work on developing those roller dance skills in a supportive environment in a like-minded community. It's all about what works for you; on or off skates, connect with other skaters and no coaches. Come on down from 6.00 - 7.30 pm.

Instead, you may like some time to yourself or a chance to meet other like-minded skaters? Don't worry, we've got you covered with another Evening Practice class. With a later closing time on Thursdays, come and say hello from 7.30 - 9.30 pm at The Skate Sanctuary!

Finally, it's FRIDAY! It's time to come and skate, have a chat, meet other skaters in the community and unwind at Friday night social. Roll into our adult roller disco for all levels and genders of roller skaters this FRIDAY from 7.30 - 10.00 pm.

If your feeling up it and thank you may be ready, we'd love to see some new faces giving themselves a little challenge of joining in with one of our speed skates. Perhaps if you don't quite feel ready for that, a little groove in the centre instead. Let's continue growing and expanding our community!

Exciting news, SATURDAY brings us our monthly Guest Dance Teacher Workshop and Disco. Join the Vybz and embrace the joy at Dancehall Vybz with Pareesha from 4.00 - 7.00 pm!
