Service Description

We are delighted to offer a monthly studio session to give you more breadth of experience. It's important to dance with as many teachers as possible so you can figure out the style you enjoy. It's also quite possible that your needs change as your confidence and techniques improve! Skate hire is available at the studio for £2 payable on the door if required. SKILL LEVEL: Please check each month for any specific requirements, however, we would generally suggest that you are confident with the following: *Rolling forwards and stopping *Lemons - forwards and backwards *Can cross your feet - step and cross *Balance on one foot rolling September 2024 - 8 Wheel Freestyle with John Who better to launch our guest skate teacher workshops at The Skate Sanctuary than John - who taught Mel to roller skate! John has been skating for 25+ years and continues to work on his rhythm and flow. Join John in the studio for elements that will support you to find your own flow. October 2024 - Confidence to perform with Alana. We are delighted to present Alana - trained performer and dancer - with her Saturday workshop. Is a performance workshop suitable for you? Probably! If you find yourself staring at your feet when you're skating, this workshop will definitely help. Very little skate skill is required, you just need a willingness to join in, go with the flow and see your confidence on skates blossom. November 2024 - Choreo Class with Mel On Wheels Mel is a UK skater based in Yorkshire, specialising in jam, rhythm and dancing skating. Growing up, Mel was a competitive ballroom and Latin dancer and has experience of teaching dance and choreographing. Since getting her first pair of skates in May 2020, Mel has trained in a variety of skate styles from artistic to jam skating. In this workshop, you will be introduced to key skills needed to dance on roller skates and learn and fun skill-packed choreography. Mel's skate dance style has Latin and jazz influences. Cancellation Policy

Skaters under 18 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. All skaters must complete or hold a valid waiver. All identities and genders are welcome. We welcome inline skaters. Skateboards, scooters and heelys are not allowed. You authorise Roller Girl Gang to take photographs and video of the session to share on their website and social media. Please speak to a member of the RGG team at the session if you do not wish your image to be included. Published event times reflect venue availability time - you may be asked to remove your skates up to 15 minutes before the published end time in order for us to clear the venue on time. By booking you accept our Respect policy as well as our liability waiver Waiver of Liability - You agree that you undertake all roller skating at your own risk. If you are booking on behalf of other people, you assume this risk on their behalf. You agree not to hold Roller Girl Gang, its staff or volunteers liable for any accident or injury that may occur. Roller Girl Gang are able to offer to reschedule or refund your class when you provide 24 hours or more notice by email only to: skate@rollergirlgang.co.uk Should Roller Girl Gang cancel the event, you will be refunded in full. We are only able to refund the value of the ticket you paid. Any extra costs incurred will not be refunded. Our cancellation and refund policy is in line with standard event and ticket policies as outlined by Citizens Advice. Wellness Policy - By booking a ticket, we will assume you are well and there are no reasons you should not be roller skating. It is impossible to provide an exhaustive list of conditions which would prevent you from skating. If you are in any doubt regarding your fitness to skate, please consult a medical professional before booking a ticket. If you feel you have a reason, medical or otherwise that your skating ability may be impaired, you must inform a member of the RGG team at the start of the session If after talking with a member of the team you decide not to skate, no refund will be given unless the required 24 hr notice period has been met.
